In a statement released by NBC Universal to the press, the company appears to be warning their YouTube customers that they may no longer be able to access their channels on YouTube TV in the future. This is due to a dispute between the company and Google which if the contract between both companies is terminated, it will mean the loss of NBC’s various channels on YouTube TV.
This will affect 14 different channels including NBC, SyFy, USA, Bravo, and Telemundo, just to name a few. According to the statement, “Unfortunately, Google has refused to negotiate these reasonable prices and is willing to withhold entertainment, news and gaming software from their paid customers. NBCUniversal feels obligated to alert our members that they are at risk of losing their favorite images if Google continues with their needs. “
NBC Universal since then refer users to a website it allows them to learn more about the controversy (from their perspective) and also identify with their different actions and steps they can take in hopes of preventing this from happening.
