TikTok has been gaining users over the years and now according to the company, they have more than 1 billion sign -ups where they say their platform now hosts 1 billion monthly users worldwide.
That’s pretty silly and if you think about it, it almost doesn’t happen. Because since 2020, the U.S. government has announced that they could look to force ByteDance (TikTok’s parent company based in China) to sell TikTok to a U.S. company lest they be banned, but they haven’t that happens.
We think this should have passed, TikTok would have easily lost a lot of users and had they banned, they would not have had access to the US market, which the company said was one of their biggest market with India and Brazil. Other platforms like Instagram have also started reaching out to the 1 billion users of the brand and have since launched their own competition with TikTok in the form of Reels.
That said, TikTok is doing quite a lot differently from Facebook’s acquisition. Based on the most recent statistics, Facebook has close to 3 billion monthly active users, it may have been a while before TikTok found them, if they did.
