How did the world’s first floating hotel abandoned in North Korea end?

The world’s first floating hotel was built in Australia and its decade-long history is a wild one that develops through Singapore, the Great Barrier Reef and eventually North Korea.

In addition to its 200 rooms, mysterious floating hotel there are seven floors with a nightclub, bars and restaurants, a helipad and a tennis court. If you want to be surrounded by the color and splendor of the 1980s, you can book a night at this five-star hotel as it drifts slightly over John Brewer Reef, about 70 km off the coast of Townsville in early 1988. However, this would not be the case for long, and wherever he went, financial difficulties and other problems would follow. It is now abandoned in North Korea, which leads us to this day.

We haven’t seen many floating hotels since, and there must be a reason. If you want to learn more about this part of the story, watch the video embedded above and, as always, enjoy.
