Apple does a lot about how they value the privacy of their customers and has introduced all sorts of feature features to help promote privacy and security. However, did you know that despite all those claims, Apple doesn’t offer the graduation card for its iCloud backups?
It’s worth the company the backups are marked, but found that results and consequences are not marked. That means the real Apple holds the keys to the backup and if they want to, they might be able to clean up the contents of your backup. The good news though is that it won’t be long before it will protect your conversations from WhatsApp.
As discovered by WABetaInfo, the new beta for WhatsApp for iOS introduces the top of the line storage for backups stored in iCloud. This puts the decryption keys in the hands of the accountant, in this case you, so that no one has access to your iCloud backup and can be scanned, your WhatsApp conversations are saved.
WhatsApp has previously announced plans for this segment back in September, and they seem to be now beginning to experiment. There’s no word on when the look will come out of beta, but it could be something to look forward to in the future.
