My love for denim is deep. I’m kind of weird — I mean, a guy — who doesn’t take off his jeans and get dressed right after he gets home, and who actually chooses to wear jeans to hang out in the apartment (a first-class offense, according to some, but I think completely normal).
Even after recently cleaning the closet, I still own over a dozen pairs of jeans, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned from denim shopping over the years, it’s that not all pairs are created equal. More importantly, not all couples suitable all equally. Popular brand LA PAGE intends to change this with his new start Gorgeous collection, and I just couldn’t keep the news to myself. The line is aimed at improving the waist-to-hip ratio for women blessed with hourglass figures, so I naturally touched two of my favorite fashion insiders to try them on and report on them. Below, Rachel Brahan and Vanessa Romo put the jeans to the test as you shape them with their favorite fall pieces.
Like many women, Brhane felt so frustrated while shopping for denim. “Traditional 100% cotton jeans would always bring me a ridiculous gap in the waist area, and I thought the jeans just weren’t meant for me,” she says. “I often had to settle for jeggings as close to real jeans. Fortunately, brands like PAIGE started getting feedback from their customers and making jeans for different body types.”
She is no longer afraid of what was once a daunting task. When shopping for denim now, Brhane says so everything on suitability. “Since I was blessed with fuller hips and thighs, but with a smaller waist, I have to make sure that the jeans hug my figure with an hourglass without giving me the infamous gap in the waist area. Styles.”
When shaping this look featuring light washable jeans Femme (my personal favorite from the collection, ICYWW), Brhane wanted to create the perfect everyday look. “I always find myself leaving my house in the morning and not coming back until it’s too late, so when shaping my jeans I wanted to create the perfect autumn look to run around town and meet for dinner right after,” he says. my she. “I paired the jeans with a black sweater with beautiful cut-out cuffs, a leather jacket and fluffy boots. When it comes to styling high jeans, my advice is always to tuck the top of the jeans. This way your shape improves and you can see how well did the jeans fit. Did I nail it or did I nail it? “I think I’m speaking on behalf of everyone when I say that Brhane actually fixed that look.
Romo has faced similar denim challenges. I mean, aren’t we all? “It’s hard to find a pair that fits well in all areas, especially the waist and hips,” she explains. “Sometimes the waist is perfect, but the thighs are so baggy. I also found it almost impossible to find well-dressed jeans that don’t give me camel toe. It’s rough here.”
Her preferences for denim – in addition to avoiding camel soil, of course – vary depending on the outfit she shapes. “I usually gravitate to high-waisted styles because they help define my waistline, but I’m looking for something different for my leg pants, whether it’s a wide leg, a straight leg or a boot cut,” she says.
Personally, I wear my black jeans until about mid-September, so I’m excited to get some styling information from Romo, especially since I’ve been gravitating towards skinny styles lately. “I love how soft and stretchy the jeans are. They move with my body so comfortably,” she says. “This outfit is all black and white to create a classic atmosphere and I think it is perfect for an everyday setting. It can even be worn in the office with the top fastened and tucked away. “
