Whether it’s cold enough outside to really be considered a start “Ugg Season”, Telfar Clemens is here to cheer us up thanks to his latest collaboration with longtime cold weather supplier Ugg. This is a big deal: the first decline of Telfar x Ugg debuted again in June and are still sold out.
This latest gender-neutral collection brings back some of the favorites from the first round – blinded T-shirts with the mashup logo, trousers and haircut boots – with some new seasonal additions that reproduce the characteristic chestnut shade of Ugg: plush hats with a bucket, hoods and Ugg Mini version of the Telfar logo. Of course, there will also be shopping bags lined with sherpa, a blend of the most recognizable product of each respective brand: the Telfar shopping bag and the Ugg shoe. Recognition has long been a way of play and creativity for Clemens; as you said GQ earlier this summer “We’ve always been obsessed with ubiquity, seeing something everywhere is what makes it real for us.” What could be better than breaking this through the catalog of one of the most ubiquitous brands from the beginning until the mid-2000s?
This is also the first drop of Telfar x Ugg you can buy on TV through the newly created brand Telfar TV channel that you can tune to their website, Apple TV, Roku or Google Play. As a designer announced during New York Fashion Week, the idea is for the channel to be generated by as many users as possible, encouraging fans and customers to send their own video content for playback. Tonight, Clemens and company will present “UGGstravaganza” with special gifts and exclusive styles. Chances are, this will be characteristically enjoyable.
