The world ‘s ever – growing population is 7.9 billion as of November 2021 according to some estimates, is projected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050. This fact alone forces architects and urban planners to think seriously about future cities; however, the land is limited. And the amount of land we have will only shrink as sea levels rise. In fact, 800 million people from 570 cities could be forced to relocate by 2050.
So where do they go? According to some, floating cities, which is the idea of building an island city over the ocean, maybe that’s the answer. But to what extent is it feasible? In this video from the YouTube channel Draw with Matt Ferrell, you can learn more about these cities and the technology needed to build them.
