Qualcomm’s Apple Silicon Competitor will be launched in 2023

Last year, Apple unveiled the first Apple Silicon chipset in the form of the M1, which was used to power Mac computers such as the MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac. Many praised Apple for their efforts, but it looks like by 2023, Qualcomm will be launching their own competitors.

During the company’s business day in 2021, Drs. James Thompson, Qualcomm’s chief technology officer, said the company will launch their own PC chipsets in 2023. The chipsets will be designed by the Nuvia team comprising three of Apple’s existing engineers. works on the A-series chipset found in Apple iPhones and iPads, and was acquired by Qualcomm earlier this year for $ 1.4 billion.

According to Qualcomm, they say their chipsets will compete against Apple’s M-series chipsets and will offer “continuous performance and battery life”. It should be noted that this is not Qualcomm’s first attempt at creating chipsets for use in computers. The company had previously tried to introduced computers and Snapdragon chipsets.

They also worked with Microsoft for standard chipsets used in the company’s Surface devices, but eventually couldn’t get the same idea or appreciation that Apple’s M-series chipsets have. Would the company be more successful this time around? We think we should wait until 2023 to find out.
