It’s time to upgrade.
There are about 100,000 people in the United States and 10 million people worldwide who do not have a hand and could benefit from the bionic hand. Fortunately, a startup from Illinois called Psynoic has developed affordable, a light and strong bionic hand called The Ability Hand, which it claims is the fastest on the market. It is also said to be the first with fingertip sensors that offer multi-touch feedback.
However, perhaps the biggest thing is that it is made with cheap silicones and rubbers that help reduce its cost to a point that is covered by Medicare. In this video from the company you can see how they managed to build the bionic arm. But it doesn’t end there: they even test it in a hand-to-hand match. If you are curious to see the bionic hand in action and want to learn more about it, be sure to watch the video embedded above and, as always, enjoy!
