WinAmp is preparing for a relaunch, but not the way you think

Back in the day before music streaming services, if you wanted to listen to music on your computer, you had to download or rip it from an audio source such as a CD. You’ll also need a music player, and that’s when WinAmp is the ideal player for almost everyone.

These days with new platforms like iTunes and streaming services, the need for a professional broadcaster has almost gone down the dinosaur route. However, it looks like WinAmp is ready to make a comeback, according to an announcement by AudioValley, the owner and parent company of WinAmp, which they are looking to make a comeback.

However, if you thought you might see the broadcaster resurrected to his former position, that may not be the case. According to the information on his website, “Something big is happening. We are building Winamp for the next generation. It’s not just renewed, it’s completely renewed. The new Winamp connects you to your music wherever you are. It brings you closer to the artists you love. It’s home to your favorite music and radio stations. ”

If anything, it looks like AudioValley will probably reconfigure WinAmp as a streaming player and use the signal to help listen. Given the popularity of streaming services, we’re not surprised if that’s the case, but whether WinAmp’s brand is enough to compete with the likes of Spotify and Apple Music remains to be seen.
